The ongoing conflict in Ukraine forced a large number of refugees to flee their homes. The traumatic events they have experienced have a significant impact on their mental health.

Research has shown that Ukrainian refugees are at a high risk of developing mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and other conditions. They may also struggle with feelings of loss, and isolation, and may have difficulty adjusting to their new surroundings in the UK.

It's important for Ukrainian refugees to have access to appropriate mental health support to help them cope with the trauma they have experienced. STREAM Foundation offers  individual and group therapy, support groups, and a variety of educational programs aimed to help individuals to process their experiences, cope with symptoms, and improve their overall well-being.

It's important for mental health professionals to be culturally sensitive and understand the specific cultural and historical context of Ukrainian refugees. This can include understanding the impact of the ongoing conflict on their mental health, as well as the specific cultural values, beliefs, and practices that may affect their coping mechanisms.

That is why the therapy STREAM offers to refugees  is provided in Ukrainian or Russian languages by either Ukrainian therapists or Russian/Ukrainian speaking specialists located in the UK.
