Trauma can have a profound and lasting impact on an individual’s mental and emotional well-being. This can manifest in a variety of symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and difficulty forming and maintaining relationships.

STREAM Trauma Centre helps to cope with, and recover from, the effects of trauma.
We offer various formats of support so anyone can find the right type of help.
We are STREAM
afe - Our therapists and facilitators are specifically trained (or going through training) in trauma treatment and regularly attending supervision in addition to various CPDs to ensure high quality service.
S
imely – Current NHS data shows that even people with severe mental health conditions are often left waiting up to two years for treatment. Others are left waiting up to four years for treatment for depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. We believe time is crucial and aim to provide psychological support within only a week and treatment within 2 to 4 weeks.
T
eliable – Our centre provides a safe and confidential environment where individuals can receive professional, evidence-based treatment for mental health issues.
R
veryone – Our therapists and facilitators have different backgrounds and speak different languages so people with limited knowledge of English can still access vital help.
E
ffordable – We believe that everybody needs to be able to afford psychological help. We offer a sliding scale of fees that aims to match your ability. We also have some spaces free of charge.
A
eaningful – From trauma to meaningful change. Through therapy, people can gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and learn new coping strategies to manage difficult emotions and situations.
